Al Gore and Bono in Davos

Hey all - so - what are we going to do?
We can do this. We must do this.
We’ve got issues to deal with on global warming and starvation. If we think it’s bad now, oh my how many will suffer in the next few years if we don’t take action.

Peace.

Hey there, thanks for visiting. This link - sorry - it’s not on YouTube shows a guy who’s so thrilled about the Toyota Prius and it’s greeness, he decided to make it even better. He’s hacked into it’s computer and tricked the hybrid into thinking the engine is already warm and he’s made it a plug-in.
There are now Toyota Prius clubs and gatherings - maybe start one in your community today!

Watch till the end of the video, it tells the best story of all.

Have a watch about the Toyota Prius Race on CNN

HP Inkjet Print Cartridges

Now this is a great innovation by HP for their inkjet print cartridges. If you look inside your HP ink cartridge box you’ll find a surprise.
That surprise is either a postage pre-paid label or envelope whereby you can send them your empty ink cartridges for recycling.
If it’s not in the box, you can go here or do an online search by typing in: hp ink recycling and print off the info there.
Very cool.

6 Door Prius

Just got this today - a 6 door Prius.
Wow. This wasn’t made by Toyota either. Seems the fellow either had time on his hands to experiment or he has a large family but doesn’t like the idea of an SUV.
Gotta hand it to him either way, his new 6 door Prius looks amazing!

Well, need I say more?
I don’t thinks so. He has said it all and continues on his quest.
My hat’s off to him with a standing ovation.

Thank You Al Gore

Futuristic Vehicles - My Vision

Just for the record, what I envision after the hybrid, the hybrid electric, the all electric vehicles, will be a solution not for just our air, but our land and government spending.
We need mini, one person, one person and a dog, two person, two person and a baby etc. hovercraft’s that float about 1 ft. off the ground so that grass can grow as high as it wants. They need to have soft material around them should they bump into anyone or anything. Not that they will of course because they will have sensors to prevent such an occurrence.

Governments will no longer have to worry about…

TELEWORKING

Ever wonder about the benefits of Teleworking? I can fill you in a bit since I have been a remote worker for the past 4 1/2 years, but first I’d like to address the average 63 minute a day commute for most Canadians. The stats are pretty astonishing really.

How do you feel knowing that you have been spending literally 12 days every year out of your life, commuting to and from a job that should you be paid hourly, you’re not compensated? Currently, Torontonians spend the longest time, clocking in at 79 minutes per day, Montreal a close second contender at 76 minutes and then there’s Calgary at 66 min (2005).

Big cities, big pollutants, big eco impacts = mega stress. As it stands (”…We Stand on Guard For Thee”…) Canadians are slow to adopt the Teleworking and it boggles my mind. The “Big Cheese” thinks because he can’t see you, you aren’t working. What a naive approach. I always thought that you were based on achievements, results and outputs. Not just because he/she can notice you washed your hair today.

It’s a stigma that needs to be addressed and el pronto. Here are just a few reasons why:

1) Global warming
2) Stress
3) Reduction in lease/rent space
4) Less pollution
5) General office supplies expense reduced…

So with all good intentions, my husband and I go out and buy our son a toy he’d shown interest in. Just the other day, I read an article in the National Geographic describing the horrors of PVC (polyvinylchloride) - a vinyl.

It sounds like a simple acronym, but it apparently contains harmful metals and an additive called cadmium. PVC is used for countless products in part or in whole. Such items like shower curtains or children’s toys, product packaging to piping, bags, car parts and tiles and on and on.

If incinerated it will release carcinogenic dioxin and other contaminants. Out of 16 billion pounds (yes, billions) of PVC produced in the US alone in 2004, only…

I ask myself that question every day. Some may think it’s an obsession, but what a great obsession. What’s so easy about it is that it’s about the weather. The most common chit chat that affects everyone no matter who or where you are.

Today was a fine example for me during a routine visit to the Doc’s office. First off, during my wait I was reading my science magazine and I decided to not fold it’s cover over. Why? Because it showed the Telsa Electric car in all it’s glory and I wanted all those wandering eyes to get a glimpse. Then after my visit I just had to show the Doc…
